While we hope to expand opportunities for writers and artists in the next year, HEEB is currently seeking contributions primarily from video-based creatives in three main areas:
HEEB Media Reveals
Our ‘Reveals’ docuseries aims to do exactly what the name suggests — pull back the curtain on scenes and stories from urban Jewish subcultures. Think immersive snapshot rather than investigative report.
Our first video explored the Kleztronica scene – a unique blend of Yiddish music, techno, and electronica. An ideal ‘Reveals’ episode will run about 5 minutes, and we pay $30 an hour for writing, shooting, and editing a story, plus reasonable expenses. An hour cap will be agreed upon by the correspondent and the editor before work commences, along with a timeline for completing the work. PITCH US.
4 Questions
Heeb’s 4 Questions series are punchy artist interviews, 90 seconds max.
We’re interested in featuring artists who:
- work in a creative discipline (musicians, choreographers, writers, actors, painters, etc.),
- work in an urban environment
- are Jewish, or creating work that speaks to Jewish themes or histories
- are engaging on-camera! (introduce us to a character!)
- Bonus points if they have a show on view or coming up – we love a timely peg!
Here’s how it works:
- Pitch us the artist, the questions, and where and when you’d like to do the interview
- We pay $36 per episode
- If we agree, we’ll send over a simple contract and release form
If you shoot, HEEB can edit. We only ask that you do not pitch yourself. PITCH.
Longer-form projects
While we’re currently focusing our efforts and budget on the series above, we’re always looking to hear from creatives about projects that HEEB may be able to support or distribute in the future.
